There is an enormous amount of effort and energy being expended by members of this community into the development of displays enhanced with some sort of multi‐touch sensing capability. However, while the engineering challenges being overcome are exciting and contributive, we should be constantly reminded of what any of this capability is for‐ simply, to serve the user. This short paper provides a post‐mortem analysis of an actual multi‐ touch application deployed in a mission‐critical environment, and offers insight into the design decisions and parameters that were significant to its success.
