Here we report a method to achieve a full color cholesteric liquid crystal using single liquid crystal layer and single plastic substrate. Mixture of a photosensitive chiral dopant and a nematic host was encapsulated and coated onto a surface. By irradiating UV with different energy into each subpixel zone, separate RGB subpixel could be obtained. The fabricated flexible prototype showed vivid and bright color as well as a great robustness.
