We report the development and the successful product launch of a new 3M Polarizing Beam Splitter, 3M PBSA, which enables high performance optical engines for Liquid Crystal on Silicon LCOS projectors. This PBSA has typical effective transmission of 94% of polarized light with a double pass contrast of around 1500:1. Recent developments in contrast performance, incident angle dependency, and thermal stability are reported.
