Abstract Submillisecond graytogray GTG response time of a polymerstabilized bluephase liquid crystal cell is demonstrated experimentally. Analytical equations describing the GTG response time fit experimental data well. This fast switching time is particularly attractive for color sequential displays with significantly suppressed color breakup.
