A 120Hz Local Blinking HDR system was proposed to significantly reduce MPRT down to 3.89ms and keep high brightness almost as well as conventional LCDs, that is distinct from the prior arts, such as Black Band Insertion, Blinking Backlight and Gray Frame Insertion (GFI), those may cause brightness decrement. Furthermore, the intrinsic benefit of high dynamic range (high contrast) and low power consumption also can be achieved.
