We constructed simple model that characterizes overall behaviors of PDP power and luminance using five measurable indexes. By characterizing various design factors by measurable indexes, we can easily compare power consumptions of them on the conditions of same luminance and same video signal input. This comparison gives deep insight in reducing power consumption through overall optimization of cell structures, materials, gas, and driving schemes.
