We have developed a 12.1‐inch, XGA Liquid Crystal Privacy‐Enhanced Display for mobile PCs. Only an authorized viewer with shutter glasses can see a private image while other viewers see a public image. The privacy enhanced display system is based on a high‐frame rate image switching technology. In general, it is difficult for LCD to achieve the high speed image switching because of its slow response speed. A high speed driving scheme and a high frame rate overdriving method made it possible to realize this function in LCD.
