A novel LED micro projector based on the angular color technique is proposed. This system uses a single panel to display RGB information in spatially separated color zones. Special projection optics is utilized to merge the RGB pictures into a full color picture on the projection screen. Two separate LED sources are considered: 1) White LED with color splitting prism 2) RGB LEDs. The technology is promising for super compact, low cost, highly efficient micro and pico projectors.
