We present a numerical model for image speckle in scanned‐laser displays. The scanning process itself reduces speckle contrast to 0.85 compared to 1.0 for a stationary laser. Reducing screen correlation length to 10 μm from 30 μm reduces speckle contrast from 0.85 to 0.41.
