The objective of this study is to achieve high directionality and extraction of light emission from polymer light‐emitting diodes via optimizing photonic crystals (PCs). Genetic Algorithm is employed to search the optimal PC period, depth and filling factor. The large‐area PCs are fabricated by Focus Ion Beams for PLED, which is commercially viable, even applicable to active matrix PLED displays.
