We have developed a high‐visibility 2D/3D LCD with widened space for 3D viewing. The evaluation results using a Fourier optics instrument confirm high visibility, which corresponds to the subjective evaluation. We discuss two kinds of definition of optimum viewing distance, and the appropriateness is described.
