The present work demonstrates transparent polymeric flexible gas barrier films, via mimicking structures of nature. SiO 2 hydrophilic regions have been formed by mesh mask deposition and the nano‐patterned hydrophobic surfaces were fabricated by nano‐imprinting techniques. The characteristics of the moisture repellent hydrophobic surfaces and the moisture transfer from hydrophobic to hydrophilic regions are shown to yield enhanced moisture barrier performances.
