To develop 10‐bit or higher gray scale source driver for high resolution TFT‐LCD, digital to analog converter (DAC) is a key factor which determines cost since the chip size of DAC is about over 50% ofthat of the source driver. So we have developed new hybrid DAC architecture for a TFT‐LCD source driver integrating a significant number of such DAC to reduce the cost of driver IC.
