To find out preferred range on wide gamut display, subjective evaluation was conducted to investigate preferred color and acceptance limit. The factor found in the experiment that lowers preference is “fluorescent appearance ”. Then simple synthesized images were used to find out the mode boundary between surface color mode and fluorescent appearance. It was clarified that the mode boundary and preferred gamut are closely related.
