The first generation ofe‐Books used glass‐based TFTs for active‐matrix multiplexing. These had good optical performance and benefitted from using the same manufacturing infrastructure as TFT‐LCDs. We have now developed flexible e‐books that are lighter and more robust and which are manufactured using most of the same equipment and processes.
