In this paper, an asymmetrical dynamic model of the luminescent property of phosphors is first proposed and developed by measuring the experimental data. Then, based on the model, a novel drive strategy is derived to fully exploit the persistence effect of phosphors for a 20‐inch CNT‐BLU. It turns out that the resulting illuminative efficiency can be increased by more than 74% as compared with the most recent pulse mode driving strategy.
