Taking advantage of a line‐sequential impulse drive system which is free from motion blur, FED has a capability to display clear and bright moving pictures. This paper reviews advantages and conditions of impulse drive system and describes how the system could be fully implemented in “nano‐Spindt” FED by viewing its performance and technologies to resolve issues related cathode, faceplate and spacer. Finally, perspective for fine pitch FED monitor is discussed.
