A high optical efficiency and wide‐view transflective LCD for mobile displays based on fringing field switching is proposed. The transmissive part uses homogenous alignment while the reflective part uses hybrid alignment with different optic axis orientation. In addition, the transmissive and reflective parts exhibit a similar gamma curve.
