Various light‐pipe based polarization systems have been reported and commercialized in the literature. But due to the high power density, the long‐term performance has not been very desirable. This paper reports a polarization recovery system that uses a large area PCS array adapted for the light pipe based system. This system is very suitable for 3LCD and LCOS projection system that uses polarized light. Preliminary designs and simulations have been performed with very satisfactory results. Experiments will be performed in the near future and the results will be presented.
