Here is presented the measurements on AC‐PDP operated at lower voltage, where SrO is used as a protective layer. The SrO‐PDP shows the lower breakdown voltage, the higher luminous efficacy, and the stable discharge compared with ordinary MgO‐PDP for the Xe concentration of 4 %. The optical emission spectroscopy is also performed to analyze the electron energy. The measurement shows SrO‐PDP discharge has lower electron energy due to the lower operation voltage.
