We propose a new PDP cell structure which shows high luminous efficacy and low driving voltage. The new structure can use the ignition discharges occurring between the main and auxiliary electrodes, that helps the main discharges to be generated efficiently at a low voltage. Test panels which have 50 inch Full HD resolution (1920 × 1080) adopting the new structure showed a high luminous efficacy of 3.6 lm/W (green) with a Ne‐Xe (12%) mixture gas at moderate sustain voltage of 190V.
