This paper presents a three‐dimensional(3D) volumetric display system utilizing a rotating light‐emitting diode (LED) array panel, which provides viewers with true depth cues, binocular parallax, accommodation and convergence, etc., and can be observed from any directions horizontally without the need of any special viewing aids. An experimental display system which can provide more than 8 million voxels in a cylinder display space has been developed. Now a new system that uses small size, high brightness, full color SMD LEDs as voxels and can provide at most more than 200 million voxels with a diameter of 800mm and a height of 640mm cylinder display space is being implemented.
