Abstract This paper presents an advanced and comprehensive system solution for driving multi‐array LED BL with advance features in a LCD TV and offers a cost effective algorithm for optimizing LED backlight power dissipation based on adaptive digital control of the power supplies, and compares the impact of LED dimming methods on color chromaticity accuracy. Experimental results and measurements are provided.
