In this paper, we present a psycho‐visual experiment to test the influence of noise reduction filters on CT image quality. Both lung and abdomen images were tested. We found that for lung images filtering was pernicious for the overall perceived image quality. However, filtering the abdomen images resulted in increased perceived quality image.
