We report on phosphorescence in tris(8‐hydroxyquinolinato) aluminum(III) (Alq 3 ) and bis(2‐methyl‐8‐quinolinato)‐4‐phenylphenolate aluminum (BAlq) thin films observed by doping tris(2‐phenylpyridine)iridium (Ir(ppy) 3 ,). We found that triplet energies of those materials are 2.0 eV and 2.2 eV, respectively. Forster and Dexter energy transfers between the host and guest molecules are discussed in detail. The efficient energy transfer through Ir(ppy) 3 enable us to observe strong phosphorescence from the organic materials.
