PDPs use the digital color half‐toning such as a dithering and error diffusion algorithm to increase the number of gray levels. A dithering algorithm is introduced, in which multi‐threshold level used without increasing the number of subfields. Improvement in tone reproduction has been achieved effectively in the proposed method.
