We have developed a liquid crystalline retardation film technology by using a rod‐like liquid crystalline polymer (LCP) for various LCD modes. In particular, considerable improvements in viewing angle performance have been achieved for the Twisted Nematic (TN) and the transmissive/transflective Electrically Controlled Birefringence (ECB) modes by using hybrid aligned nematic film ‘NH Film’.
