We propose a novel fast‐switching LCD panel for color field sequential projection. This panel employs a layer of OCB (optical compensated bend) mode liquid crystal that is maintained at an elevated temperature by a built‐in ITO (indium tin oxide) heater and a thermal sensor. We call this method heated‐OCB. The heated‐OCB realizes a response time of less than 0.4 msec, and provides color field sequential projection with 2 or 3 times driving and small color break‐up.
