We demonstrated a highly bendable liquid crystal display using an elastomer substrate with spacers. One of two substrates is a plastic substrate and the other is an elastomer substrate fabricated by a replica molding method. The elastomer substrate is capable of vertically aligning the liquid crystal molecules without any surface treatment. The replica molding method provides a simple and low cost process.
