In this paper, new driving method is proposed to solve the problem that a driving margin is decreased when a low voltage of address pulses are applied during address period. In order to understand the principle of the new driving scheme, cell operation was analyzed using Vt closed curve in both cases which conventional waveform and proposed waveform were applied. As a result, the maximum delay time of the addressing discharge is decreased by 40%, even though a low address pulse was applied in 42‐inch XGA AC‐PDP without decrease of driving margin.
