Seven of the high‐flux pseudo‐white LEDs with side‐emitting azimuth radiation patterns are coupled into the bulk of a micro‐structured light‐guide plate to illuminate a 16.51‐cm diagonal navigation system. The luminance, the luminance uniformity and the power consumption are equal to that of a conventional navigation system with CCFL. The navigation system with LED is the first product massproduced worldwide.
