32 inch TFT‐LCDs having viewing angle contrast ratio over 300:1 within 160 degrees and having normalized blurred edge time of less than 10 ms have been developed. A new optical compensation film and driving method have achieved this high performance. LCD‐TVs using those advanced IPS‐Pro technology will be produced in IPS‐Alpha line with the 6th generation facility.
