The advantages of Optical Compensation Bend (OCB) Liquid Crystal Display are fast response and wide viewing angle, but the contrast ratio is still a issue. This paper proposes several countermeasures to improve the contrast ratio. Consequently, contrast ratio can be increase 60 % by changing structure of LC‐cell, adjusting RGB gamma curves individually and adding dynamic backlight luminance control.
