Abstract In this paper, we describe the light emission mechanism of phosphorescent organic light‐emitting diodes(PHOLED) using graded doping structure and multilayer emitting structure to get high efficiency and long lifetime by charge confinement in the emission layer. The efficiency and lifetime of the PHOLEDs could be improved by graded doping structure and charge confinement structure.
