Abstract— The effect of different measurement methods on the characterization of display color, maximum color difference, and luminance uniformity of medical liquid‐crystal displays are reported. We use a telescopic colorimeter and a custom‐designed collimated probe with an internal lens attached to a spectrometer. The maximum color‐difference variations were found to be between 0.0047 to 0.0073, in the same range as variations among methods, displays, and screen locations.
