We conduct a simulation of an electrophoretic display by calculating the pigment particle kinetics under an external electric field and analyzing the reflectance of the display from the particle configuration in each time step. The hydrodynamic and the electrostatic interactions in the pigment dispersion are taken into account in our simulation. The overshooting of the reflectivity and the history dependent grayscale switching are demonstrated.
