Due to the limited power budget, mobile LCD displays have a rather dim backlight and thin color filters, resulting in poor brightness and color reproduction. Multimedia applications require realistic color reproduction, with optimal contrast, brightness and sharpness. This paper describes the LifePix™ image enhancement features: Color Gamut Mapping, Contrast Boosting and Sharpness Filtering.
