A process is developed for fabrication of thin film Ba‐Al‐S: Eu phosphors for inorganic electroluminescent FPD. It includes sputter‐deposition from a single composite target and in‐situ anneal of the phosphor films. The phosphors exhibit EL‐luminance up to 900 cd/m 2 and lifetime sufficient for TV applications.
