— A stacked‐type reflective color display using cholesteric liquid crystals has been developed. The display has high luminance and 512‐color capability. This device also has display‐image memory features without a field owing to its intermediate multi‐stability. We will discuss a new fast‐addressing scheme and device construction to obtain intermediate stability and excellent color‐display characteristics.
