— The first results from a new method of time‐resolved Fourier‐transform spectroscopy using a continuously scanning spectrometer are presented. An energy‐transfer problem in the rare‐earth‐activated crystal (Yb,Ho):KYF 4 is studied to demonstrate the potential of the new technique for characterization of phosphors.
