— The addition of polymers, along with standard parameters such as d/p , elastic constants, and twist state, can be considered another parameter in the optimization of an STN display. A low percentage of a polymer dopant has shown to eliminate stripe formation in 270° STN devices, as well as providing steeper thresholds and wider viewing angles in optimized displays. Data will be presented to show the effect of polymer concentration and curing conditions on STN devices.
