— The new short arc lamp system is the first lamp of a new generation of high intensity discharge lamps, released by Philips Lighting, with a technology not known so far in the Lighting Industry. Because of its short arc, its ultra high intensity, and its relatively long life, it is most suitable for consumer and professional light modulating projection systems like LCD or other light valve based rear or front projection units.
