— A private display for a videophone requires a narrow and movable observation area along with a wide‐viewing‐angle option. A combination of a monochrome LCD panel, a lenticular sheet, and a transparent LCD panel appears suitable for such a private display. Test results for an experimental system based on this method indicate that the development of a practical system for a private display is feasible.
