— To resolve some of the problems encountered in developing a high‐power inverter for an LCD backlight with multiple cold‐cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs), we developed an intelligent dc‐ac inverter unit with the following special functions: (1) stabilization of the power consumption within several minutes of power‐on, (2) dispersion of the inrush current at power‐on, and (3) low switching noise on the power‐source line.
