— A novel approach to optimization liquid‐crystal displays (LCDs) is presented. The optimization module allows for a prediction with a high accuracy for the best results, which can be obtained for one or the other configuration of the polarizers and phase retarders in various electro‐optical modes, if the LC parameters and the operating voltages are fixed. The module is a part of our program, MOUSE‐LCD, which is efficient software for LCD optimization and modeling.
