We propose a universal LCD controller for a‐Si TFT LCD of SXGA class that can display full screen of a LCD panel. The proposed controller can be applied to the lower resolution of image sources such as NTSC, VGA, SVGA, and XGA. A new interpolation algorithm is proposed and a new interpolation filter has been implemented for the proposed display method. Currently, the timing simulation of the proposed controller has been successfully executed by using VHDL and the controller has been designed in a 0.6 μm CMOS technology.
