New ferroelectnc liquid crystal (FLC) materials for the τ‐Vmin mode FLCDS were developed, realizing fast response time (12μsec/line) and high contrast ratio (higher than 100:1). The developed FLC materials are useful for simple multiplexing FLCDs with high contrast and moving full color images, realizing high bit temporal dither for gray scale.
