The normally white mode of a biaxial film‐compensated thin homogeneous liquid crystal cell exhibits a wide viewing angle, high contrast ratio, weak color dispersion, low operation voltage, fast response time, and large cell gap tolerance. Its potential applications for reflective direct‐view and color‐sequential projection displays are demonstrated.
