Contrast ratio in bright ambient is one of the most important factor of image quality in display picture. In this paper, it is reported that the contrast ratio is improved by applying a reflective structure with white ribs. The structure is applied to surface discharge ac‐PDP with high resolution of 0.13mm, the contrast ratio is improved 1.5times higher than the conventional one. Moreover, luminance and luminous efficiency are improved 1.94 and 2.05 times higher with wider viewing angle.
