At the production line for our 14.1‐inch LCD modules, arc‐shaped wrinkles on the optical sheets and concentric circle patterns on the screen appeared after aging of the panels. The cause of these problems was found to be dome‐shaped warp of the light guide of the backlight unit. Analysis of these phenomena led to several ideas on how to prevent these display luminance non‐uniformity problems.
